A. The wind and sun are not constant, so there would be times when no electricity would be generated.
B. The wind and sun are constant, so there would be plenty of electricity for the home.
C. Wind and solar power are inefficient and too expensive to use and maintain.
D. Wind and solar power are efficient, but they are not able to produce enough electricity for a single home.
A is the best of your four, for your question, but since individual wind and solar power generate power to a battery, which is the direct source of power to your house, you can store up enough power to maintain your electrical usage, through the winter, power outages, and you can sell some access back to the Community Power Company.
If enough households demand an individual windmill and solar panel, the initial costs will come down to reasonable expense!!

My family is really "Green" when it comes to our lifestyle. I just need to know how much it would cost for solar panels to provide our electricity. How many would one house need? Do they charge by the panel?
It is not that simple. You need panels, batteries to store the energy, an inverter. Your usage can be figured out by a professional who will ask you questions about your lifestyle to figure out your average usage, determining your panel/battery needs. You cannot run any high usage items such as electric dryers or electric stoves, or electric furnace (depending on where you live). There are a lot of variables. You will be looking at around $20-30000 per average 4 person household.

As far as I know that it's more economic to use solar power at home. What are the ways that solar power can help me with? How can i do it? How much will the devices needed cost?
install solar power panels its that easy !
This will heat your water, For energy you can install a wind generator but be warned this might anger neighbours who might not appreciate the noise of the fan rotating in the wind.

i live around there, no tall buildings around or anything. i was wondering if anybody has a house that has solar panels and if it works well and how much power it gives off. specs like that.
The amount of electricity your house could produce depends on the roof square footage thats facing the sun or that can have stands to angle the panels. Many people go for a system that gives them about half of their total usage. The actual amount per square foot can vary slightly depending on the pannels you get there are amorphous and crystaline as well as different formulations of the solar material. The best bet would be to contact a solar installer in your area for a free evaluation or for a quick look you can check out manufacturers websites like sharpsolar, bpsolar and I believe home depot also installs solar now.

i am looking to build a small solar generator to power a few lights and so forth, i have a deep cycle gel car battery, but what watt and volt solar panel would i need to charge it in an efficient amount of time? also, is it possible to hook up 2 small solar panels to one battery to charge it or would that not work? like would 2 5 watts be as good as a 10 watt?
thanks!
More watts is more power, because watts are a measure of power. Most solar panels produce the right voltage to charge a car battery, but you should really have a charge controller too. See the source for some ideas.
